Conference Cloud 300x191 The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre and Puma Hotels Collection become latest venues to join ABPCO Conference Cloud campaign Exhibition NewsThe Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) today announces that The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) and Puma Hotels’ Collection have become the latest venues to sign up to its Conference Cloud campaign, which calls for venues and hotels to offer Wi-Fi free of charge to conference delegates.

The QEIICC becomes the fifth convention centre to become part of the campaign, joining other major UK convention centres such as ACC Liverpool, Manchester Central, Brighton Centre and ICC Birmingham which was the first convention centre to support Conference Cloud. Puma Hotels’ Collection has joined with 21 separate hotels all committed to offering free Wi-Fi to conference delegates, taking the total number of Conference Cloud locations to 259. Guoman Thistle has also signed up for the campaign, adding its 16 hotels to the network of free Wi-Fi venues.

ABPCO Chair Jennifer Jenkins commented: “The importance of the Conference Cloud campaign has been further cemented by the support of The QEIICC and Puma coming on board and we are delighted that we now have over 250 venues involved, including major convention centres and hotel chains.

“As Wi-Fi has swiftly become a necessity as opposed to a luxury, the Conference Cloud campaign has grown rapidly and will only continue to gather pace as an increasing number of delegates begin to expect free Wi-Fi from their venue.”

The QEIICC’s Commercial Director Sue Etherington said: “The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre offers allour clients free Wi-Fi connection for delegate browsing. The ABPCO’s Conference Cloud is an excellent campaign to champion the importance of making Wi-Fi accessible across the events industry as a whole and we are delighted to be part of it.”
