Following the appointment of Adrian Evans as Account Director for Conference and Live Events earlier this year, the NEC has reinforced its commitment to growing its conference business with the addition of a new conference suite.
The Centre Suite, located in the Piazza, is easily accessible to all shows and events held in Halls 1 – 5 and takes the venue’s total to 34.
“In spite of our continued successful delivery, we’re still not recognised for our conferencing capability and it’s a perception we want to change,” says Evans.
“We host over 400 conferences and live events and around 140 trade and consumer shows at the NEC each year, so we’re definitely the venue of choice. The next step is to get across the fact that we’re the perfect fit for events of all sizes and not just large-scale exhibitions.”
“The NEC’s largest Halls are on the Piazza side of the site and in offering the Centre Suite as a conference option, we’re responding positively to organiser and exhibitor demands for more space.”
The Centre Suite improves the NEC’s already impressive conference and exhibition offering which benefits from more than 186,000 square metres of covered exhibition space through 20 interconnecting halls (in addition to the 34 suites) across more than 160 acres of hard standing ground and 75 acres of woodland.
