Architects Collado Collins reconfigured the space, by filling in the second floor atrium and making significant improvements to the conference centre including a new contemporary foyer.

The mechanical and electrical infrastructure was also upgraded, façade stonework and windows were repaired and the canopy was repainted.

‘During the past two years £30m has been invested in Olympia and it’s a privilege to have our venue recognised within the local community. We have worked hard to ensure that all of the recent changes remain sympathetic to our existing architecture and we’re extremely proud of the results,’ said Nigel Nathan, group managing director, Earls Court and Olympia London.

The accolade was awarded at an event attended by the Mayor and the Leader of LBHF Council.

The Hammersmith Society seeks to preserve and enhance architecture and the urban environment in Hammersmith by promoting public interest in an improved townscape, by campaigning and by working with the public and local and national authorities.
