Cheltenham Racecourse is fast becoming a favourite venue for a diverse range of events on non-race days. Live music, comedy gigs and festivals are among the exciting schedule now taking place on its famous turf.
The racecourse has hosted premier music festival Wychwood, as well as providing a stage for top comedians Sean Lock and Jack Dee, and it will be among a select few venues chosen by rock legend Rick Wakeman for his UK tour this year.
Special interest events such as the Rock Gem ‘n’ Bead Show for crafters and collectors, and white-collar boxing night Road to Glory have also chosen Cheltenham Racecourse as their preferred location, and a growing number of corporate bookings have included car launches.
The racecourse hosts a multitude of events spaces, including 300 acres of outdoor space, and The Centaur, a 2,250-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art lighting and sound capabilities.
Non-raceday activities doubled year on year in 2013 and now account for more than 10 per cent of Cheltenham Racecourse’s annual turnover. The popularity of this top-class location is enhanced by its excellent transport links, being close to two of the UK’s major motorways, the M4 and M5, and within easy reach of London, Bristol and Birmingham, pulling footfall from around the country.
