Marketing Week Live (MWL), 26-27 June 2013, Olympia Grand Hall London, is the epicentre of marketing innovation and expertise in the UK, and this year’s show has exemplified innovation with organiser Centaur taking advantage of new technological solutions to old problems.
Centaur collaborated closely with the official AV supplier for the show, Aztec Event Services, to deploy digital signage for the first time at the MWL. Aztec’s digital signage system is controlled by the new EventIgnite platform. This powerful tool allows real time management of the signage in response to changes and creates new ways of engaging visitors with relevant information.
As official AV supplier to the show, Aztec equipped 14 seminar rooms with full AV facilities and technicians to operate them. Seminar rooms were then connected to the Aztec VLAN on the computer network enabling access from the Aztec “Speaker Ready Room”, where speakers could upload and edit their presentations on a suite of networked PCs, before remotely uploading them directly to the seminar laptop. Aztec also supplied Centaur with 13 iPads for visitor engagement purposes.
In addition to the digital signage, AV provision and Speaker Ready Room, Aztec and Centaur also worked together to create the digital multimedia content for the new “Agency Ask The Experts Zone”.
2013 also marked Aztec’s second appearance as an exhibitor at MWL, where the demonstrations of its silent seminar technology attracted significant interest, and vistors could experience the power of the EventIgnite platform when coupled with digital signage.
Chris Harris, account manager for Aztec, was a little tired but very happy as the event came to a close, “The exhaustive pre-show planning with Centaur’s brilliant team was instrumental to smooth running of the AV at the show, and our technicians worked tirelessly to manage and accommodate the many contingencies that alway accompany an event of this size. I’m immensely proud of the whole team and what we achieved here.”
