The Winning Stand Design

Devon based Dandelion Clock Exhibitions, sister company to The Olden Group PR & Marketing, has walked away from a high profile national conference and exhibition winning the Best Small Stand Award for the stand it designed for its client, MSM Risk Management.  Airmic is an annual conference that hosts some of the UK’s top Risk Management professionals from the likes of Lloyds of London and the biggest names in the insurance industry.

Dandelion Clock Exhibitions represented MSM in 2012, when the client first made inroads into this sector – and won the award last year too on their very first showing!

The stand concept recognised that ‘it’s a jungle out there’ for Risk Managers being able to pull together all the relevant data in one location to make accurate decisions. The 7.5m2 stand was turned into an apocalyptic jungle – the London financial district was overrun with jungle and the stand out character was a gorilla revolving above the stand. The interactive element of the stand enticed visitors to dip into a jungle drum and pull out a talking point.

Said judge Georgina Oakes: “After winning best stand in 2012 MSM really had a reputation to uphold and certainly achieved that this year. The stand, whilst small, stood out across the entire exhibition hall for its creativity and effective use of space. However, it was when we actually visited the stand and met the team that its jungle theming really made sense. I was particularly impressed by the “lucky dip” of discussion topics which ensured that delegates attracted by the gorilla and ivy would remain on the stand to learn more about MSM. Excellent!”

The conference organiser, Susi Ozkurt, was also impressed with the stand: ““As the UK’s leading conference for the insurance and risk management industry we have seen a lot of creativity over the years. However, our 1000 delegates couldn’t have been more impressed by this stand, which, albeit a small space, was one of the most exciting we have seen.” She added, “The company’s messaging was strong and the stand really hit the mark. It most definitely deserved the Award for Best Small Stand.”

Managing Director of Dandelion Clock Exhibitions, Caroline Bramwell, supported the client onsite at the three day event and received the award during the last Conference Keynote Speech. Said Caroline: “It was a very exciting day – we knew the judges liked our concept and we were confident that we had visual impact. However, there was some stiff competition from bigger companies that have been doing this much longer than we have at this event, so to win this for two consecutive years was fantastic!”
