De Boer is the name on everyone’s lips when it comes to staging grand scale events and is brilliantly demonstrating why as it constructs the site for a high profile oil and gas industry gathering in Scotland.
SPE Offshore Europe 2013 conference and exhibition is the largest industry event of its kind outside North America and identifies Aberdeen, and the UK as a whole, as a globally recognised centre of oil and gas industry knowledge, experience and excellence.
Temporary structure specialists De Boer has already embarked on the build programme for the gathering, which takes place between September 3 and 6.
It will erect five massive exhibition halls for the event, as well as link halls to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre and an area for a café.
The biennial four-day event attracts tens of thousands of key figures from the global oil and gas industry, including big name companies such as Shell, BP, BG Group, Total and ExxonMobil.
De Boer has shown the value of long-standing business relationships by tackling its 20th successive year at this and is extremely proud to be involved in the 40th anniversary exhibition, themed ‘The Next Fifty Years’ to reflect the continuing success of the UK’s oil and gas industry both in terms of further production and a strong supply chain.
De Boer Senior Account Manager Jackie Gregson-Brown said: “We are very proud to have held the SPE Offshore Europe contract for more than twenty years. A project of this scale is challenging but also very rewarding, especially having played our part in its success for so long. We very much look forward to continuing our relationship in the years to come.”
The De Boer team arrived on site on August 5 to build the temporary exhibition accommodation and are scheduled to complete on August 22, ready for the arrival of more than 1500 exhibitors.
The Brackley-based company in Northamptonshire also arranged the installation of roller shutter doors and the structures’ associated guttering and downpipes, as well as co-ordinating sub-contracted carpentry services for the project.
SPE Offshore Europe 2013 is organised by The Offshore Europe Partnership, a joint venture between Reed Exhibitions Ltd and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. SPE is a not-for-profit professional association whose members are engaged in energy resources development and production. It serves more than 104,000 members in 123 countries worldwide.
