i2i Events Group and UKTI announce partnership to support UK businesses in their plans for international growth

i2i Events Group and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) have announced a partnership that will see them working together to support the attendance of UK companies at i2i’s range of world class, industry leading events, exhibitions and summits.  The partnership will come into effect immediately and cover 11 i2i events in 2013, across sectors including renewables, energy and water, education, broadcast and production technology, retail and architecture.

The partnership will seek to bring high quality networking opportunities with senior global decision makers within the reach of UK based SMEs and will also provide a range of VIP services to UK delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors who participate at selected i2i events.  The support offered to UK companies working with UKTI will differ depending on the specifics of each event but could include international hosted buyer programmes to bring relevant buyers to UK events, support for delegates attending conferences and exhibitors taking part on UKTI pavilions or individual stands, the creation of business lounges and meeting places specifically for the use of UK participants, VIP networking events and thought leadership and speaking opportunities.  Pre-event support will also be made available to UK participants to ensure that they are fully prepared to capitalise on the business contacts made and establish a foothold in new countries or export their products and services for the first time.

Robert Driver, Director of Technology, Innovation & Events at UKTI, says, “UKTI is delighted to be working with i2i Events Group to identify and support more British businesses to go global.   There are exporting opportunities for every business, no matter what their size, in both established export markets and in newly emerging high growth economies.”

Ian Houghton, Head of Commercial, Technology & Events at UKTI adds, “Our partnership with i2i Events Group will enable UKTI to find more potential exporters and increase the uptake of the tailored support, specialist knowledge and other services we offer to help them to build their businesses overseas.”

Mark Shashoua, CEO i2i Events Group comments, “i2i’s events offer a great entry point to new international markets.   By working closely with UKTI and supporting existing and new UK clients we hope to maximise the growth opportunities for UK businesses in our particular sectors and markets. We are delighted to announce this partnership and look forward to further developing our working relationship with UKTI.”
