The Japan Exhibition Certification council announced on August 22 that they will partially amend the current system about the investigation method of “Third-party Certification System relating to the exhibition statistics” and the period of use of certification mark from September 1.
The operation of “Third-party certification system relating to the exhibition statistics” was started from the fiscal year 2012 for the purpose of providing highly transparent and reliable statistics and informations about exhibitions as a system to prove that the figures(number of visitors, number of exhibitors, exhibit area) announced by exhibition organizers are based on definitions and indicators set forth in the guidelines.
However, the authentications in the first year are 4 companies and 8 cases. By the opinion that a person in charge of sponsoring research during conference is large and application fee for authorization (300,000 yen plus tax) is high, the council discussed with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, which designed a system of authorization, and Tokyo Chapter of Japan Certified Accountant Association, which is the contact place of research institution several times, and summarized part of revision of the current system.
The main revision is reduction of responsibility of sponsor in the research during conference and extension of the period when authorization mark is used.
Mr.Satoshi Sato, assistant manager at Life Culture Creating Industry Section at Commerce Information Policy Department at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said, “By this revision, we want people to use this authorization system as much as possible.”
