Olympia London has teamed up with a local community group to help improve the Marcus Garvey Park – just a short walk away from the prestigious London exhibition venue.
The project will see 1000 daffodil and 1000 crocus bulbs being planted in the West London park by local schoolchildren and will spearhead the proposed regeneration of the area in 2014 that will cost an estimated £50,000. Olympia is delighted to have been able to facilitate the planting project and realises the importance of such spaces in the surrounding environment.
Located just moments away from Olympia, the area surrounding Marcus Garvey Park is densely populated and a recent survey revealed that a large proportion of local residents would like to see improvements made to the park.
“We are delighted that Olympia London is involved with our community project and are very grateful for their generous donation,” said Sean Adamson, project leader. “Many local residents see Marcus Garvey Park as their “back garden” and so to have the opportunity to dramatically improve the site will mean a lot to those that visit on a regular basis.”

This project is just one charitable initiative that Earls Court and Olympia have been involved in with the venues’ charitable trust celebrating 10 years in 2012, having donated in excess of £200,000 to local charities since 2002.
