April 8, in the Hotel Okura Tokyo, “Farewell ceremony” of Mr. Kumazaki Moriomi was held and about 500 people of various fields attended it. Mr. Kumazaki was the chairman of PCO’s largest Congre and died from pneumonia at the age of 82 on February 12.
Mr. Kumazaki worked for a bank and founded the Congre in 1990. Engaged in the management of some medical societies and international conferences, and made his company the biggest one in the business. Also in 1998, he helped the foundation of the National Convention Operating Company Council (Now it is Nippon Convention Agency = CPA), which is a business group consists of PCO, related companies and organizations, and he became the first president.
