Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) announced the budgetary request for the next fiscal year 2015 on Aug. 28. The request was amounting to 18,007,000,000 yen and which was 84% increase compared with this fiscal year 2014.
The budgetary request for MICE was reduced from 450,000,000 yen in previous fiscal year to 220,000,000 yen. However, because the main implementing body of the Visit Japan project excepting some portion was determined to be carried out by Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO), and the summation of the budgetary request for the Visit Japan project, MICE promotion, and the Management Expenses Grants becomes 14,692, 000,000 yen in total and which was increased by 71%.
