‘Impressionist Masterpieces from Marmottan Monet Museum’is in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museumon September 19 to December 13.
This exhibition will present 90 pieces from the private collection of great Impressionist painter Claude Monet (1840-1926).There are display of ‘The Bridge of Europe, Saint-Lazare Stationn,Palais des Tuileries, Meules, effet de neige, soleil couchant,the painting which gave its name to Impressionism, Sunrise in the special exhibition which is the collection of Dr. Georges de Bellio, one of the first admirers of the Impressionist movement.
During the exhibition, there are display of the official supporter, Mr. Seiichi Tanabe’s art work ‘Monet in Japan’ and the shop for official character goods, Tokyo branch of three-stars restaurant L’Auberge De L’ill Tokyo and a cafe collaborated with Ecute Ueno provides various sweets and dessert.
After Tokyo, the exhibition will be held at Fuoka Art Museum, Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art, The Niigata Prefectural Museum of Modern Art.Works for display might change depends on the place or schedule.
