This hybrid event is scheduled to be held this autumn from October 22nd to 31st throughout the most famous areas of the city: Omotesando, Gaienmae, Harajuku, Meijingumae, Shibuya, Ebisu, Daikanyama, Nakameguro, Roppongi, Ginza, as well as online.
DESIGNART TOKYO brings together and presents a variety of exhibits across all genres of art, design, architecture and interior design, fashion, food, sports, and technology from all over the world.
The theme this year is “CHANCE! – Unprecedented Opportunity” supporting the idea of discovering and encouraging young designers and artists.
One of the highlights is a new concept outdoor furniture series created by Taiwanese architect Johnny Chiu, the founder of J.C. Architecture (JCA), and the Japanese group Kobe Leather known for its contribution to the sustainable development of Kobe city. The first product in the series – single chair – will be displayed for the first time.
Another remarkable name – De Castelli, the hot topic at the Milano Salone, has already arrived in Japan this February. The company with 4 generations-long history will exhibit metal furniture made of iron, brass, and copper, in their variety of shapes and finishes.
DESIGNART TOKYO agenda also includes a number of sustainability-related content and collaborations.
Last year, while events all over the world faced changes in schedules or cancellations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the DESIGNART with a number of implemented strict infection control measures was still taken place and attracted a total of 140,000 visitors and had an online reach of about 850,000.
