In preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Business Finland had opened the National Partner House and part of the Finnish Embassy – “Metsä Pavilion”
During the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the two-story wooden contemporary building was renamed “Home of Finland” and was planned to serve as a home base for the Finnish Olympic and Paralympic teams, where various parties and medal ceremonies were to be held, but due to the spread of the coronavirus, the participation of athletes was changed to an online format.
Currently, the pavilion is open for public tours with the number of anti-virus measures implemented, such as limitation of the number of participants per tour, alcohol disinfection, and body temperature testing.
Inside the pavilion, visitors can learn about Finnish elements in architecture and furniture design, as well as sustainable initiatives.
Until the end of 2021, the venue is going to be used as an event platform for Finnish companies and a Christmas market for the public.
It should be noted that advance registration via the official Facebook page is required for the tours and public events.
