Manchester Central, The North’s leading events, conference and exhibition venue will be the home of the Chartered Institute of Housing Annual Conference and Exhibition for the next five years.
The leading social and affordable housing event in the UK brings together housing associations, arms length management organisations (ALMOs) and local authorities.
The event, led by Ocean Media Group, is the biggest and best attended event in the UK’s housing events calendar with more than 7,600 housing professionals and over 300 key suppliers all under one roof.
Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen to host the CIH annual conference and exhibition for the next five years. This conference and exhibition was a huge success at Manchester Central in 2012 and we are looking forward to building on that success over the coming years.”
The conference and exhibition has been running for more than 60 years. It staged its first conference at Manchester Central last year and the results were extremely positive, with a significant increase in commercial revenue and 24% higher attendance than the previous year.
Sarah Payling, Event Director at Ocean Media Group, said: “We are extremely pleased to sign this deal with Manchester Central. This iconic venue fits perfectly with the CIH conference and exhibition and suits our needs perfectly. It is also great to be in the centre of one of the world’s most vibrant cities with some housing excellence best practice on our doorstep.”
Grainia Long, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Housing, said: “Last year’s event was a huge success – we had some really positive feedback from our members about the new venue so we’re delighted to be returning to Manchester Central for 2013 and in the years to come. Housing 2013 is focusing on finding the solutions to deliver the homes we need and I’m confident it will be better than ever.”
