Etherlive, temporary IT specialist for the event sector, will be sharing best practices at International Confex focusing on how technology can help realise incremental revenues at events.

Etherlive’s director Tom McInerney will be speaking on March 19th to encourage event organisers to maximise rev

enue through technology and effective use of content.

McInerney’s presentation will highlight how planners can drive revenues and enhance the customer experience by making the most of investments in infrastructure that go further than just providing Wi-Fi and internet connectivity. The session explores how organisers can:

· Tap into sponsorship revenues through localised Wi-Fi

· Charge for content through live video streaming and video on demand

· Create maximum exposure through use of social media

· Re-sell content after the event

· Utilise technology by introducing contactless payment for transactions of products and services

The demand for content re-use is underlined by Etherlive’s recent work at the Green Events & Innovations Conference which took place on 7th March 2013. Partnering with A Greener Festival, Bucks New Uni and the Association of Independent Festivals, a live online stream of the conference allowed remote viewers to pose questions and join in with the discussion.

The Confex session, arranged by the Association of Event Organisers is geared towards corporate event organisers, production companies, and HBA’s.

Etherlive is a respected specialist for temporary IT installations at a wide range of events, from The London Medi

a Centre at One Great George Street for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to corporate conferences and large-scale festivals.

Tom McInerney, director of Etherlive, said: “We have reached a critical inflection point within events; technology is becoming part of organisers’ vocabulary. This session will illustrate how events can move beyond just providing production support but also generate significant incremental revenue, maximising opportunities that exist.”
