Both Earls Court and Olympia turned off their lights for one hour on Saturday 23rd March in support of WWF’s Earth Hour.
In partnership with the Ideal Home Show, Vitality Show and The Telegraph CRUISE Show, Earls Court and Olympia joined iconic London landmarks such as the Shard and Big Ben by turning off their lights for sixty minutes at 8:30pm.
Both Earls Court and Olympia have won numerous awards for their CSR programme and take great pride in their industry-leading work. The annual Earth Hour initiative, which helps raise awareness of climate change, complements the venue’s existing sustainability programme.
“At Earls Court and Olympia, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the environment and were delighted to take part in this worthwhile campaign once again,” said Nigel Nathan, Group Managing Director of Earls Court and Olympia London. “We work extremely hard to ensure that we stay at the forefront of sustainability issues and are keen to support such innovative, awareness raising projects.”
In 2012, 152 countries and over 7.6 million people in the UK alone got involved in the annual ‘switch-off’ with more than 1200 businesses playing their part; including the International Space Station.
