The only way is up for exhibition and event organisers at Manchester Central, after two major shows reported substantial increases in visitor numbers for their March events.
The north of England’s leading events, conference and exhibition venue enjoyed a successful month with returning exhibitions going from strength-to-strength.
This year’s Northern Restaurant & Bar Show (on March 5 & 6) was a resounding success, reporting a 13% rise in visitors and an impressive 60% increase in onsite re-bookings for 2014.
The event attracted 5,700 publicans, bartenders, restaurateurs, hoteliers, chefs and deli owners from across the north of England.
Thom Hetherington, Managing Director at Holden Media Ltd, which organises the NRB Show, said: “Manchester Central is a perfect venue for us as its location and connectivity gives us a perfect catchment across the North, particularly the M62 corridor. Equally important is that our visitors and exhibitors love being in the heart of the city and use it as an opportunity to check out the best of Manchester’s burgeoning food and drink scene.”
Meanwhile the 50+ Show (held on March 1 and 2) – Britain’s biggest show for the active over 50s – said they enjoyed almost a 9% increase in visitor numbers compared to last year’s show.
5319 visitors enjoyed the two-day exhibition, and visitor feedback was extremely positive about using Manchester Central as a venue.
Angie Robinson, Chief Executive at Manchester Central, said “We are delighted to learn that these two shows were so successful, with increased visitor numbers and increased re-bookings and interest for 2014.
“Manchester Central will continue to attract the biggest and best exhibitions and conferences and we work closely with our clients to help ensure success.”
Both events enjoyed Manchester Central’s free Wi-Fi in action. Manchester Central was the first major venue in the country to make free Wi-Fi available to all, including exhibitors. Manchester Central’s new concierge service was also on hand to support visitors, exhibitors and organisers alike.
